Oh Yeah – New Month, New Year!

Hey! I guess I should send out a request for some January 2011 holidays, shouldn’t I? It’s just around the corner! You know what to do; anything you want celebrated in January, just let me know!

Here are some random stories:

One of my coworkers was whining yesterday while I was pouring myself a cup of coffee. He had a craving for a snack or drink or something, but said that none of the departments had anything available. Then he said, “I need something hot!…..Come here, Tara!” Although I was sort of flattered, I told him to get in line. Then I told him that I brought cookies that my brother’s girlfriend sent us, so that made him happy.

My brother had me laughing hard on Christmas Eve. I was in a goofy, giddy mood. We were all healthy this year, so it’s definitely something to celebrate. After I referenced a line from “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and made most of the table crack up laughing, my brother started talking about a salesman from Best Buy. Apparently the guy was suffering from a congested cold, and my brother’s description got me laughing. This encouraged him to go into more detail than any of us needed, but I couldn’t stop laughing.

My hips and ribs hurt at the moment. I woke up the Wii Fit this past week and decided to try the application that simulates the hula hoop. Holy hell. Good workout though!

Tomorrow I’m going to the movies with my mom and my nephew (before he goes back to college) to see “True Grit”. I’m not a Western or Matt Damon fan, but I heard the movie is good and my mom wants to see it. I have been pleasantly surprised before about a movie someone else recommended (last one I remember was “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”), so I’ll give it a shot!

I hope all of you have a wonderful, festive start to the New Year, and that the days that follow are all happy and healthy! I’m so grateful that I have the priviledge of knowing all of you.

November Ideas – I Needz Em, Pleez!

Hey everyone! If you have any holiday ideas or birthdays to celebrate next month, please share! I will put them on the November list o’eclectic holidays. Thank you, kindly!

I found Mr. Reaper here when my mom and I went to a pancake breakfast down in the Metroparks. Don’t worry, he was only there to support the haunted trail they had set up this month. Here he is being all supportive and stuff.

Calendar Ideas, Computers and Blogthings

Hey everybody! I’m posting this from work because my computer at home has bit the dust. I will be buying a new one. Any suggestions of what brand I should get? I don’t want to spend oodles of cash, but I would like something that has more gigabytes and whoozeewhatszits.

Oh and, since September will eventually be here next week, I’d love to see your ideas for the next calendar! Share your thoughts, pretty pleeeeease!

Here’s another quiz thing from Blogthings:

You Are a Peacemaker Soul

You strive to please others and will compromise anyway you can.
War or conflict bothers you, and you will do anything to keep the peace.
You are a good mediator and a true negotiator.
Sometimes you do too much, trying so hard to make people happy.

While you keep the peace, you tend to be secretly judgmental.
You lose respect for people who don’t like to both give and take.
On the flip side, you’ve got a great sense of humor and wit.
You’re always diplomatic and able to give good advice.

Souls you are most compatible with: Warrior Soul, Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul

Well it seems August is approaching by the very end of this week (Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY)! I have one of my vacation days planned in August, so I’m looking forward to an extended weekend a few weeks down the road.

Anyway, even though I’ve been neglecting the Eclectic holidays, I still want to keep the list alive. What do you want to celebrate in August? Sharing is caring! :)

Enjoy your Wednesday, every last one of ya!

Sunset 2 - July 2006

Here’s a sunset from a few years ago – don’t know if this was taken in the Fall or Summer…or somewhere in between.

Q & A and Weekend Info

Hey everyone! What did you do this weekend?

I was invited over to my friend’s place for some dinner on her front porch. She will be moving to another state soon, and I’m really going to miss her. It’ll be an opportunity to visit her, though!

Anyway, after sitting out on the porch for a bit, we went back inside and watched a show on MTV called “Disaster Date”. People set up their friends with dates who are hired to do three things that annoy that person. The “disaster date” and everyone else in the restaurant or cafe or wherever they choose to go for their date are actors. The only one who isn’t in on it is the person who is being set up. The victim is paid a dollar for each minute they stay with the bad date, and the maximum amount of time is 60 minutes.

So….if someone asked you to list three pet peeves that would cause you to walk out on your date, what would be on your list?

Oh! July is almost here, too! Any holiday ideas are welcome!
