Saturday Scavenger Shots: Celestial

Happy Sat…er…Sunday! I hope that you’re all having a fun weekend, whatever you’re doing! Ms. Laura from “What Fresh Hell is This?” picked the word “celestial” for this weekend’s edition of Saturday Scavenger Shots. I had at least one photo in mind, but then procrastinated and now I’m late with posting something. Blah!

Anyway, here are a few photos:

As you can see from these photos, I am a fan of the tea brand, “Celestial Seasonings”. They’re all very good. They have so much flavor packed into each teabag that I don’t even need to add sugar. This one is one of my favorites.

Here’s my little collection. I have a few more boxes, but they’re from a different company.

Friday 5 – Warming (or Cooling)

Whoa there! I’m actually putting up a second post for today, can you believe it? Are the planets all aligned or something? Anyway, here are the weekly questions from the Friday 5 blog. This one is called, “Warming (or Cooling)”

1. As the weather in the northern hemisphere begins to warm, how do your days and nights change?
I’m more motivated to spend time outside, go for walks, etc. I also love that we have longer days before the sun goes down.

2. In what way do your dining habits change as the weather turns warm?
I just eat more watermelon during the warmer months and I get more of a craving for roasted marshmallows. That’s really all that changes.

3. What’s the best thing unrelated to weather about the warm-weather months?
The swimming pools are open and the smell of barbecues is almost always in the air.

4. What are some strategies for dealing with those especially unbearable warm nights?
I have my window cracked open a bit and I also have a fan on while I sleep. Walking around barefoot during the day feels nice too (until I stub a toe).

5. What words of encouragement do you have for the you of six months from now?
Well….You like November, Thanksgiving and the crisp, autumn air. Enjoy!

Some Questions and Answers Pour Vous!

Hey, it’s Friday! Oh, glory be to all…or something like that. I’m just glad it is Friday and that I don’t have to work on Monday. I didn’t volunteer myself this time, because I’m always volunteering. No, no, not this time.

Anyway, here is the Friday Five thingy from The Blogthings Blog! Play along if you’re into that kind of thang!

1. What is your favorite weekend activity?

Doing whatever the heck I want, without having to go anywhere. If I don’t want to go to the store, I don’t go to the store! If I want to sleep in, I’ll sleep in! Then I like to relax on my couch with coffee and watch TV.

2. Where do you like to go for a quick weekend trip?

On occasion, I like to drive to my old hometown where I grew up because it’s close to the beach and oodles of parks.

3. What sort of vibe does your ideal weekend have? Fun? Social? Relaxing? Productive? Something else?

Relaxing, definitely. Then sometimes if I’m relaxed, it inspires me to be productive and have more fun.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?

I have to help my mom with her grocery shopping and then my brother might have us over for a Memorial Day barbecue, but other than that I plan to work on my apartment and relax.

5. Take What Hobby Are You? – What do you get? Is it accurate?

I took the quiz and it said that I’m yoga. I liked the description, it’s pretty accurate. I’m always looking at self-help books when I’m the library or checking out Amazon. I also find it difficult to take a nap, even when I need one. I feel like getting up and doing something.

You Are Yoga

You seek balance in your life, and you really like taking the time to unplug.

But you’re not the type of person who could simply unplug by taking a nap. You’re too driven for that. You aim to improve yourself in as many ways as you can. You want to be a better person.

Yoga is perfect for you because it makes you healthier, calmer, and more compassionate.

Today is Saturday, and we all know what that means, right? It’s time for another edition of Saturday Scavenger Shots! I decided that we should work with the word “draw”.

I decided to hop on my mini trampoline and attempt to draw at the same time. This is the result! I also tried to add my signature (again, while jumping up and down on the trampoline). You can kinda-sorta make out the “W” at the end there.

Trampoline Sketch

Then there’s this one that’s been rattling around in my head recently. I was thinking of the saying “you’re just skin and bones” and I had to draw something.

Ink and Sticks

Now I need to pick someone to pick the next word. How bout choo, Laura?

This is a fun game, all! If you want to play, please join us!

Sketches Ahoy!

My drawing itch seems to be back, and I have some ideas. I was going to draw something new, so I found one of my sketch pads and tried to find a blank page. I found some things that brought back memories and made me smile and laugh, which was just what I needed today!

I posted the following photo on “Dinkums and Doodles”, the blog that FW (from the blog “Tortoise Feathers”) shares with me. He’s the artist that makes that blog thrive, and I have been such a slacker. I finally posted something tonight after what seems like centuries.

Then there’s this sketch. I drew it awhile back and during a time when I was seriously frustrated with a “crush” situation. I thought I loved the guy and tried ever so hard to woo him (did I seriously type “woo”?!). He was never meant to be, but my little ole heart was stubborn and kept hoping and pushing. It finally threw up its hands (if hearts have hands) and notified my common sense that it was best for me to move on.

I love to play hide-n-seek with family pets, especially with cats. My mom’s cat Joshua will play with me, but I’m an easy find. I giggle when I hear him “meow” out of confusion or maybe he’s saying, “Where in the hell did she go?!”

This happens all of the time. I get angry when I’m trying to research something (mostly for my mom), and things go awry. It frustrates me beyond words. I pound my fist a lot, I’m surprised I have a right wrist bone.

Saturday Scavenger Shots: Stone

Hello there! Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day! AlienCG over at “Swamp Gas and Moonlit Reflections” picked the word “stone” for yesterday’s edition of Saturday Scavenger Shots, and I did find a photo from ye ole archives. Check it out:

This is a closeup of a little brook that runs across Big Creek Parkway. If you look hard enough, you will see some stones under the water. Pretty, eh?

I’ve been tagged, so let’s go with the word “DRAW” for next week! Have fun!
