Share a Recipe Today

Today is “Share a Recipe Day”, and I have a recipe to share! Here’s what you’ll need:

1 pint of Computer access
1 tsp. of Internet access
1 Cup of (Reliable) Transportation
1 ounce of money
1 phone
1 raging appetite

Step 1. Go to your computer and look up your favorite restaurant (ex. Applebee’s) on the internet. Find their menu.

Step 2. Call their “Carside-to-Go” service and order off of the menu you found on their website (ex. One of their “trio” meals – fajita steak towers, mini cheeseburgers and shrimp)

Step 3. Drive 15 minutes to the restaurant and park in their “Carside-to-Go” space. Wait a minute for the server to come out with your meal all ready.

Step 4: Pay the nice lady. Drive away (safely).

Step 5: Go home, pop in a movie and enjoy a delicious meal.

Step 6: Throw empty container in the trash.

If you are still hungry, repeat all steps.

  1. Ooo! I lie!! (Though not actually tried this, so don’t blame me if it tastes nasty or explodes):

    4 tablespoons flour
    4 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons cocoa
    1 egg
    3 tablespoons milk
    3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) A small splash of vanilla
    1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

  2. NoRegrets: I’d like to see the recipe you have, you should post it!

    Laura B: I didn’t even break a sweat! :P

Tim: That sounds really good! I misread the name of the recipe and thought it was a milkshake, but then realized it sounded a lot like a chocolate cake! I’ve gotta try that. Thanks for the recipe!

Babybull: I’ll have to try your recipe for dinner and then Tim’s recipe for dessert!

  3. I have a variation with sesame chicken and beef stir fry.

    1. Call the Chinese place for lunch.

    2. Order the sesame chicken and beef stir fry specials and shrimp egg rolls for delivery.

    3. Pay and tip the delivery person when they bring your order.
