Photo Scavenger Hunt Saturday: “Fall”

Foliage at Lake Isaac

Here is my photo for the first keyword of Photo Scavenger Hunt Saturday. This holiday is brought to you by Evil-E at Random Crap. The keyword was: “Fall”, and this is my photo. I took this last year at Lake Isaac in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. It was around the end of Fall, so it’s technically the fall of Fall.

Oh yeah! I was tagged by Evil-E to name the next keyword. And it is…..

The keyword is BUG. So next Saturday post a photo that has something to do with the word BUG. Doesn’t have to be a bug, it could be a photo of someone you know bugging you at work or at home or wherever. Whatever meaning you can find in the word “bug”, capture that in a photo. Got it? Good.

If a Dentist Says I’m Easy, That’s Good…Right?

I had a dentist appointment this morning at 7:30am, which meant I had to get up earlier than I usually do. I think I slept, but not sure. Anyway I made it to my dentist’s office early and even though they open at 7:30, there was already someone ahead of me! The nerve! But I didn’t have to wait long before someone came out and said, “Are you Heather?” Hm. Close. “I’m Tara.” Then the lady said, “Oh!” and then told someone on the other side of the door, “It’s Tara.” Then she opened the door again and called me in. Don’t know what that was about. She explained it to me, but did I mention it was early? I tuned her out a bit.

The only problem I had this time was that I had some stubborn coffee stains on the bottom teeth.  Listerine Whitening mouthwash couldn’t even get it out. I thought it was tarter or something, but the hygienist confirmed it was just stain trying to make me look bad. So she took care of it, and within an hour I was finished. No lecture about flossing, because I’ve been keeping up with it, no stern advice was needed about anything. In fact when she was scraping around with the dentist-approved ice pick, I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever. Not even when she ran some floss through the back wisdom tooth. I was pleasantly surprised.

Then my actual dentist came in, looked over my teeth really quick and then told me he’d see me again in six months for my next cleaning. I said, “That was easy!” and he said, “You usually are!” So I’m usually easy. That’s good, right? ;)

Inna Funk

I started writing two posts for today but just didn’t have the drive to finish or post them. Lack of sleep laziness perhaps. Just not into the blogging mood. But I’ll probably be back tomorrow since I only have half a day of work. I have to go in on Saturday, though. S#@*. That would be fine, but I have to speak in front of a large class of students who are usually just as alert as I am in the morning which is not saying much. Wish me luck, please. If ya want. If you don’t want to wish me luck then fuggettaboutit.

(Funny search term for today: “toilet cake”. Someone typed in “toilet cake” and found my blog. GOL! -Giggling Out Loud)

Yahtzee! Appreciation Day

“Yahtzee!” isn’t a game I usually play. I don’t even own the game. But I have one memory of it that hit me today and I sat here grinning.

Years and years and years ago when I was in grade school and we were on our way to a historical village for a field trip, I was sitting next to my friend John D. I had already been in simple bliss because he chose me as his travel partner for the trip and I really, really liked him. Anyway, we’re sitting together and he asked me if I wanted to play Yahtzee. He had a smaller travel version of the game. At the time I didn’t know how to play it and told him. He was so cool about it and explained it to me and then we played and it was a nice moment. Don’t ask me if I know how to play it now, though, because I have no idea.

Which Jane Austen Heroine Are You?

Thank you to Dinah from Dinah Says Nothing for this quiz! It was fun! Note to whoever decides to post their own results, the code doesn’t include the personality description. You’ll have to copy and paste that part. Otherwise the photo of the character and the name is included. Have fun!

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

 :: L I Z Z Y ::

“You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of silliness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgment that serves you very ill indeed.”

October Ideas, Please!

Hey everyone! How’s the week coming along for ya? Hey, October is approaching and if you could submit some of your creative and goofy holiday ideas then that would be great. Mm kay? Thanks. :) So start thinking of some holidays you want celebrated and post them in the comments section!

I already have one holiday suggestion from Ksra. It was verbalized last night on our way to Hilarities to see a comedian and sip some martinis. We brainstormed before we hit the martinis, though. Good comedian and some great food and an excellent friend. Thanks Ksra!
