Happy Saturday! It’s time for another edition of “Saturday Scavenger Shots, and the lovely Laura chose the word “social”. Play along and …. so-cial I! Heh…get it? I’ll move on.
Here’s a photo I took when we visited family in Arizona for Thanksgiving. That’s a table-full of social activity.
This photo was taken years ago in South Carolina. Except for two of the girls in that photo, this was the first time the group of us met in person. We called it the Diva Fest. We were all fans of the actor Dougray Scott and we met through an online fan forum. I think this was before Facebook was created, so we were into social networks before the “social network”. We had so much fun.
About six years ago or so, I joined a gaming website for older, adult gamers who actually work for a living. We ended up organizing Spring Fling, first at the founder’s house in Cuyahoga Falls and then the following year on the Jersey Shore (Snooki did not show up).
I am a very social person, but I’m usually too bust socializing to take photos. Great photos.
Should I admit here that I have no idea who Dougray Scott is?
AlienCG: Thanks – A smaller group of us met again in the same state and then a few years later we went on a cruise. We’ve got a good friendship going now, outside of the forum.
Secret Agent Woman: It’s okay, many people don’t because he’s kind of obscure. He’s a Scottish actor who has been in a few American movies like “Ever After” with Drew Barrymore and “Mission Impossible 2″.
Those are great social photos! I have always thought your Diva Fest friends sounded like lots of fun…and I love that you guys were on the cutting edge of social networking :)
