"Notafinga!" (sniff) Remembering Darin McGavin

Mr. Darin McGavin, the hilarious, unforgettable father from “A Christmas Story”, passed away this weekend. He’ll always be Mr. Parker to me. Here are some quotes from “A Christmas Story”:

Mr. Parker/McGavin: Fra-gee-lay. That must be Italian.
Mrs. Parker: Uh, I think that says FRAGILE, dear.
Mr. Parker/McGavin: Oh, yeah.

Mr. Parker/McGavin: He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny.
Mother: He does not!
Mr. Parker/McGavin: He does too, he looks like a pink nightmare!

The Old Man/McGavin: [shouting] Don’t anybody move! Hold it right there! The fuse is out.

Mr. Parker/McGavin: You mundane noodle!

Ralphie as Adult: The old man stood there, quivering with fury, stammering as he tried to come up with a real crusher. All he got out was…

The Old Man/McGavin: Notafinga!
